The position of the teeth at this phase of the treatment is not yet stable and needs to be stabilized for at least one year. This is essential! The stabilisation can be achieved by removable appliances (visible), or a retainer fitted, which is fixed on the inner side of the front-teeth (which is invisible).

During this retention time, the position of the teeth should be checked each three months. The development of the wisdom teeth at this time will be controlled and, if necessary, we may recommend their removal.

After a sufficient retention time (at least 1 year) the treatment is complete.
